SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAMME

KV2 AKHNOOR

 

           School Readiness Programme commenced w.e.f  8TH April – 14TH  May 2013.

In the beginning class-teachers welcomed the students ofclassI.Teachers introduced themselves to the students which was followed by the introduction by the students. Each and every student was welcomed by giving a pencil in order to make them comfortable so that they come to school joyfully. Later on students were introduced to H.M and other staff members. They were taught how to greet the teachers.

Children were motivated to converse and interact with the teachers and amongst their friends so that they mingle freely with others. Various name games were played by the students in groups. The students were familiarized with school premises like H.M room, staff room, playground, toilets and water point. Students recited poems related to good habits, manners and moral values. They enacted good habits in class. They also enjoyed story telling and dramatization. Students were encouraged to make different things like fruits, animals, birds etc using clay, cutting and pasting of glazed paper, collection and pasting of leaves from surroundings. Things of different colours were shown for colour identification. Colour game was played by the students with different colours. Palm printing was done by the students which they enjoyed very much.

 The programme proved fruitful with the result that the students come to school cheerfully and with great enthusiasm.

Supervision by the Principal/HM 
Two lessons per day (teacher wise/class wise)are being  supervised by the HM. Teachers are being guided by the HM and further the instructions regarding improvement are being transferred to students. Proper record of supervision has been made.          

Monitoring of CW/HW and written work of students

In primary section activity based class work is being assigned by the subject teachers. Creative home work is assigned twice a week of which necessary follow up is being done. HM regularly monitors the correction work and homework and guide the teachers from time to time. Teachers guide and encourage the students to participate in class discussions and to write neatly in cursive writing.

 Common Minimum Programme for Primary Classes:

Common Minimum Programme is being implemented in the vidyalya as per the guidelines by the KVS. Various activities are held to ensure successful implementation of CMP are as follow:

1.School Readiness Programme : To make the tiny tots of class I familiar with the school and to make the teaching-learning more meaningful, during the first fortnight students of class I are taught with play way method only.

2. Activities under CMP:

a) ART & CRAFT: to enhance the creativity of the students competition such as Mask making, watch making, ball decoration, flower making, paper folding, clay moulding, kite making , Rakhi making, bouquet making, best out of waste, pot decoration, candle decoration, X-mass tree decoration, toy making, flag making are held in CCA period.

b) Celebrations of Religious Festivals; To inculcate moral values and to develop in the students love and respect for all the religions various festivals such as Raksha Bhandan, Lohri, Diwali, Guru Nanak Dev's Jayanti, Id, Christmas etc are being celebrated in the school with great pomp and show.

c) Celebration of Important Days: to imbibe in the students democratic outlook various important days such as Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi jayanti, KVS Foundation Day, Teacher's Day, Children' Day, Earth day, Vanmahotsava, Health Day are being celebrated in the vidyalaya.

d) Celebration of Grandparent’s Day: To acquaint the students with the importance of elderly persons at home Grandparent's day is celebrated in the vidyalya every year. Grandparents happily and enthusiastically participate in the events and two senior most grandparents are felicitated by the worthy principal. Prizes are distributed among the winners grandparents.

e) Music &Dance : For ensuring all round development Various activities are being held in the school such as Solo song, solo dance, group song, group dance, folk dance, patriotic song competition, Folk song, boogie woogie, poem recitation( Hindi & English).

f) Drawing : to enhance the creativity and aesthetic sense of the little kids various competitions such as Sand Art, Rangoli, Flower decoration, candle decoration, card making etc are being conducted as per CCA Calendar under CMP.

g) Community Lunch : To develop healthy food habits among the children and to encourage sharing and caring, Community lunch is organized once a month.

h) Health Check up: Health check up is being done as per schedule and proper record is being maintained by the class teachers as per the guidelines of HM and worthy Principal.

I) Games and Sports: To ensure the physical development of the students various activities under games and sports are being conducted in the school. Class wise and inter house competitions are held under the supervision of HM and Worthy Principal.

j) Cleanliness of surroundings and class rooms: Teachers guide the students to keep their surroundings and class rooms clean. Regular monitoring is being done by the HM and record is maintained.

k) Beautification of the school: Students are encouraged to plant saplings on their birthdays, this helps in developing in them love for nature.

l) Film show: to ensure healthy learning film show is held in the vidyalya and students of primary section are allowed to watch films as per the schedule.

m) Cubs & Bulbul: Every Wednesday trained teachers from vidyalya hold morning assembly and teach the activities to the students and encourage them to participate in it.

Class library: Class Library from class I to V is being maintained by the class teachers. In classes I &II hanging library is installed. Teachers exchange the books with their co classes. Records of books are maintained by the teachers and are supervised by the HM from time to time.

 Experimentation and innovations in class room practice:

In order to make teaching learning more meaningful various innovations are being done by the teachers are as follows:

Meaningful TLM of each and every lesson is prepared by the students. Proper projects (lesson/subject-wise) are assigned to the students according to their caliber. Extra attention is given to special children and extra work is assigned to the bright students (file work, scrap book, story writing, dictionary making, Narrating their own experiences, dramatization with masks and costumes).

Programme for low achievers and High achievers:

Records of low achievers and High achievers from class 1 to 5 with action taken is maintained by the subject teachers and  HM. Weekly monitoring and  follow up is taken by the HM along with worthy Principal.

Usage of e-contents and Video lectures/Magic box

Lessons using over head projectors are being delivered during first period as per schedule. Record is maintained by the HM.

Judicious use of enhanced working hours

Date wise schedule and record of utilization of enhanced working hours is maintained by the HM.
